This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
Okaii.. You will think I'm crazy for writing this but I have to...
Do you judge a book by its cover? Do you judge a person by the colour of their skin?
If you say yes to one of these ask yourself this question: Is there any difference between the cover of a book and the colour of a person's skin?
If you say yes, you're wrong. A person doesn't choose the colour of their skin like a book doesn't choose it's cover/bindings. They have no choice. It's what they're born with. -- In reference to the book Noughts&Crosses by Malorie Blackman you only have to look at the cover and read the first few chapters to figure out that it's about racism.
The 'Noughts' are the pale-skinned people, like many of us are, and the 'Crosses' are the dark-skinned people. Most people would think that it would be the Crosses that were treated differently. They're wrong.
The Noughts are treated differently because they ARE different, right?
Wrong. The Noughts are no different to the Crosses, apart from the colour of their skin. So why are they treated like aliens?
It's simple. The Crosses are scared of change. They don't want to be ruled by someone who's different to them.
This makes US as bad as the Crosses. We act the same way towards people who are darker than us. Does this mean WE are scared of change? Because of the way we react. We are.
Would you like it if you couldn't do things because of your skin colour? Would you like it if you were told that you couldn't see the person you loved, because they were a different skin colour to you? Would YOU be willing to ignore your feelings? I know I wouldn't. I would rather die than forget about the one I loved.
I think that the book shows how the author felt when she was writing this book as SHE is different. She is dark-skinned, and the way she has seen her kind being treated by us. It scared her. She wrote this so that WE would understand what it's like to be treated differently. To be frowned upon because we are different.
I find this unfair, the way people are treated, as it's not what's on the outside, it's what's on the inside that counts. This means that people shouldn't be judged by their skin colour, race or nationality. They should be judged on their personality and the way they react to others.
Remember... Everyone is a person. Everyone has feelings. No matter who says otherwise
